The new cards look really nice, I like the unambiguous symbols. There is just one part you missed, the armor indicator. Should the Thug Brawler's armor, for example, be marked with "+2"?

Thanks Arcanet! And you are correct, I missed the defense icon in the upper right corner. It should be set in a Square yellow pip. Like I said in my post, those cards are "nearly" finished! Good catch.

The new cards do look pretty slick! In play they make things much easier to keep track of equipment and my players like being handed a physical card when they loot something new and shiny off their fallen foes. Out of curiosity, what settings will be included with the core game? I know you mentioned your own space opera setting, but will there be any others?

Is that lizard guy a Space Kobold? Also I really love the Prismatic Laser Rifle, though I suppose the melee people in the party probably wouldn't like it much. Do the lightning bolts mean it uses a player's power points to shoot?

The lizard is a Draig, one of the alien species for the race cards I'm working on.
The core game will contain the Starward Horizons setting deck, as my way of showing off what can be done with Simple System and giving Simple Smiths an example to work from. I would like to continue to expand my Starward Horizons setting, and I have another drastically different setting in the works, but I'm not sure exactly when I'll have the chance to release it. I know there are quite a few already working on their own settings for Simple System, so the best thing would be to stay current with the forums (and my website http://www.simplesystemrpg.com) for news on the latest releases. I've always kind of thought of Simple System like it was a video game console - I'm making the "console" and anyone can develop the games to play on it. Starward Horizons is kind of like my Super Mario Brothers.
The Rifle runs off of charges, of which it can hold three (represented by the lightning bolts). You can hook it up to a battery pack (which itself holds a limited number of charges).

I've seen people talk about old cards, new cards, using resolution decks and stuff at cons etc. Where can I see them? I bought the Simple System a good while back and haven't seen any of it yet.
I know the final product ships next month, but then how do other people have access to the cards? Was it a Kickstarter backer level?

Ah, the use of the lightning bolt as ammo for electrically powered weapons/items and on the power point cards is slightly confusing. Perhaps a battery shaped symbol would be better for charges on an item?

lunaguardian There was an early access demo players had the option to back, and I sent demo kits to several individuals who ran games at recent conventions.
