From what I've seen so far, there are five colors for character sheets and matching resolution decks. Of course, down the line, you may have more than five players (and besides, the GM is going to need one of those resolution decks, right?), so here's what I was wondering: will there be any other colors available for additional character sheets (pink, purple, orange, grey, brown, etc.) and resolution decks? Maybe special versions like gold or silver? The resolution decks and character sheets fill the aching void of dice for the game, and we all know how people love their own unique dice. Plus, it would just be nice to have each player have different colors at the table. I don't know if you can modify and make your own with the creator tools, but sometimes you just don't want to have to deal with all that work (and sometimes you don't trust yourself to do a good job).
So how likely is it that we'll get extra colors?

You've misunderstood - the colours represent difficulty levels, not individual players. There is no limit on players.

He's talking about the background color on the character cards. The backs of the resolution decks are also color coded to their respective character cards.

Custom colored/themed resolution decks would be awesome, and are probably the most oft-requested addition people ask for. I'm excited about it too! Unfortunately from an economic standpoint (my least favorite of all the standpoints) it's not that easy to do. Unless you are ordering decks in large quantities (we're talking 1000 minimum) the cost per deck is prohibitive. That doesn't mean I don't have some super cool things in the works, but it does mean that at the moment I can only offer the current modest range of colors.
As an alternative, you could edit the print and play versions of the resolution decks to make your own custom deck. I'll be releasing detailed print and play instructions to help individuals get very professional results at home with their home printers.

Well, that's a shame about the price thing. Just means I'll have to grit my teeth and follow those instructions!
Any chance of us getting an official "Simple System color palette" to assist in making alternate colors? I get that we can basically pick whatever colors we want if we're making them, but I would like to try to keep the types of colors consistent with the rest of the decks if I can!

My mistake, sorry! Didn't realise that since I'm all focused on the digital release.

I thought about having custom colors printed on larger custom playing cards, then cutting off the uncolored parts. It would be somewhat expensive for a few full decks, but prototyping some custom colors with that method may work for some of the games I'm thinking about creating. Saw the potential here as soon as I realized the character cards and the backs of the resolution decks were color coded.
