Hi, this may be a dumb question... Given that he characters are amnesiacs, should there be any specific parameters for character creation (outside of the normal process)? thanks!

I assume you are referring the Rude Awakening Adventure? In that case, they are not amnesiacs per se, they just don't know how they ended up in the holding cell. I would suggest reading through part one of the adventure and deciding for yourself what kind of guidance (if any) you want to give your characters in character creation. In the end it will depend a lot on the play style of your players, I've had groups hack and slash their way from beginning to end, and others that got through the whole thing without ever firing a shot or flipping initiative!
One potential suggestion, you may encourage the players to each pick their own distinct specialization so each player has a chance to shine in their own right. Sometimes this is needed, sometimes not. It depends on the group.
