There is an icon on the top right corner of the prismatic laser rifle, what does it mean?
Also, would that location be good for showing the ability type of the weapon/item?
What I mean by that is, a huge two handed axe would be a strength weapon, with the weight icon there.
A dagger or a rapier, as well as a bow would be agility weapons, with the hand icon.
Decoupling weapon type items from strict ability types would make sense for me personally, as some weapons need precision over brute force, as was discussed in another thread.
Imagine a huge sniper rifle. In a strict sense it is a ranged weapon, and thus you'd flip agility to shoot with it. But in reality it would actually be an Intelligence weapon, because your ability to pinpoint the target is more dependent of your ability to read the weather, wind, air pressure etc., than if you can throw darts well. Thus this weapon would have the lightbulb in the top right corner.
A wizards staff would likewise be an INT ranged weapon, and not really a STR melee weapon. You wouldn't risk breaking it in a melee confrontation, those are what the dagger in your sleeve is for.
Does this make any sense to anyone else?

Makes lots of sense! This kind of system also gives interesting variables for different kinds of weapons... a club that you strike with uses strength, a magical staff uses Intelligence. If a character has a complication affecting intelligence, they would have a more difficult time with a magical staff, but not necessarily a club.

I think it's to indicate that the weapon pierces obstacles and people.

I think one distinct advantage for using a system like this is seen on the Electro-Lash, as it condenses the entire "Finesse based" attribute text line into a single icon on the title of the card.

Good idea, the upper right corner is intended to be used to convey additional information and adding ability icons would do just that. I do think it would be a good practice to include a description in the bottom of the card as well, to justify why the weapon relies on a different ability. In the case of a sniper rifle, I would probably give players the option to flip agility or intelligence, or agility at close range and intelligence at very long range. This is the kind of thing that will appear in the Content Creation guidelines.
The icon on the laser rifle signifies that it ignores cover bonuses, I'll soon be adding a glossary of icons to the rules with a description of what each icon represents.
